December 1, 2011 This fall, the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts received a generous two-year grant, totaling $148,800, from the Windgate Charitable Foundation. The grant will support artist fellowships and studio costs for four long-term residencies, and scholarships and studio costs for eight summer residencies. |

Currently at the Bray, there are six private individuals who have each committed to providing $5,000 fellowships for long-term residents and two individuals providing scholarships for summer residents. With the help of the Windgate Foundation grant, four more $5,000 fellowships will be awarded, allowing all ten long-term residents to receive fellowship support and a minimum of a $700 scholarship for all summer residents. In addition, the Wingate Foundation grant will provide funding for operation of the resident studios, $7,200 annually for each long term resident, and $2,500 for every summer resident. | Kelly Garrett Rathbone, 2009 Matsutani Fellow |
