Surface
Enrichment and Working in Earthenware This workshop is about making utilitarian pots-cups, plates, lidded forms and teapots--on the potters' wheel in a spontaneous and casual manner, using red earthenware clay. The class will also explore the possibilities of surface decoration using underglaze colors and slips, as well as other techniques for making marks on clay. There will be slide shows about form and surface from historical and contemporary works. This class is for students with intermediate or advanced skills.
