Colorful Chemistry–
Developing Cone 6 Glazes for
Oxidation and Soda-fire
Instructor: Julia Galloway
September 15–18, 2011

Looking to change your glaze palette? Want to switch to cone 6 firing? The goal of this four-day workshop is for each participant to develop a confident process in which they can create cone 6 glazes for their own work. Participants will not find the “perfect glaze” in three days; however, they will study glaze chemistry, experiment, mix, and test, test, test many cone 6 glazes. Glaze tests will be fired in both oxidation and soda. At the end, glazes will be evaluated closely and participants will go home with the knowledge and confidence to experiment in their own studios.

This workshop is open to artists will all skill levels and experiences.
