Bidding Instructions
Bidding in person for the Silent Auction artworks will begin Thursday, June 23 at 7 pm.

To Make a Silent Auction bid:

  1. On the bid sheet next to the piece, print your registered bidder number in the space next to the amount you wish to bid.

  2. Bidding must increase by the established increments printed on each bid sheet. You may skip ahead to a higher amount if you prefer. The highest value filled in on the bid sheet will be recorded as the current bid. Please draw a line through the skipped bid increments.

  3. ASSURED BUY OPTION- if you wish to ensure purchase of a piece of artwork, you may write your bidder number in the Assured Bid Box. At that point, no one can outbid you. Assured bids for the Silent Auction are 200% of the retail value and 300% of the retail value for all cups.

  4. In the event there are multiple bidders vying for the same artwork at the end of the Silent Auction bidding, an impromptu live auction will take place to determine the winning bidder.
ABSENTEE BIDDING on the Silent Auction
Those unable to attend are welcome to take part in the Silent Auction by absentee. Absentee bidders must register with the Bray office. During business hours, you may register for a bidder number by contacting the Bray office, 406/443-3502 ext. 10. To register, the Bray will need your billing address, shipping address and a credit card number on hand. Once registered, bids may be submitted by e-mail to bid@archiebray.org, or by phone, 406/443-3502 ext. 10.

The Bray will begin taking absentee bids on Monday, June 13.
Absentee bids will be accepted until 5 pm MST on Tuesday, June 21. After June 21, your designated bidding agent will take care of your bids. Your absentee bid is the max bid you would like to place on a piece.

Bidding on many of the silent auction pieces is fast and furious, and winning bids are often above retail value. Therefore, to be most effective in placing an absentee bid, please make the highest bid you feel comfortable with.

All absentee bids will be held in strict confidence.

Absentee bid winners will be contacted by phone by Wednesday, June 29 to be notified of their winning bid. If you are a winning bidder the Bray will automatically charge the credit card number on file. Shipping arrangements will be made at the buyers expense.

Every effort has been made to describe all auction items accurately. Each artist has determined the retail values and details of the pieces.

Winning bidders will be given a receipt at time of payment, with documentation of the artwork, retail price, amount of winning bid and the Archie Bray's tax exempt status and Federal I.D. tax number.  Please consult your tax preparer for advice on possible charitable donation tax deductions.

The Archie Bray Foundation reserves the right to add items to or withdraw items from the auction without notice.

Thank you for your interest and support of the Archie Bray Foundation!
