with Julia Galloway
June 17–23, 2018

Tuition $465 (includes $65 lab fee)
Maximum enrollment 15
Open to artists of all skill levels

This seven-day workshop is designed for k-12 teachers who are interested in working with clay in the classroom or who hope to introduce clay into a curriculum. Focusing on creativity and problem-solving using ceramics in the classroom, the week will consist of developing project and curriculum ideas, daily demonstrations by Galloway, lively conversations, slide presentations and time to work with clay. Participants will develop skills and ideas through handbuilding, wheel throwing, solid sculpture construction, relief tiles and slip decoration. Resources regarding historical and contemporary ceramics will be available for reference and inspiration.

This course is open to teachers of all skill levels. Peer-based learning and sharing of knowledge are strongly encouraged. Participants will take with them new skills, curriculum ideas and renewed creative energy. Participants are encouraged to bring project ideas and a desire to play with clay. OPI renewal credits are available for this course.
